I will be updating my adoption fees as follows.
$25 for a single (only available if you have one or more rats of the same sex, spayed or neutered companions, and around the same age)
$20 each if you adopt a pair or more
$30 for a single (same rules apply as above)
$25 each for a pair or more
If you are a repeat adopter, a $5 discount will be deducted from each new rattie you adopt from me. :)
Lots of time, hard work, and money goes into these guys. This is 100% A hobby for me. I have never seen profit, nor do I break even. I spend lots of out of pocket money on these guys for supplies, cages, vet bills, etc. This is NOT my job. I have a full time, 40 hour, job I work on top of this. None of their income, or the money made from my Etsy shop, is pocketed. All of those funds go towards them. They are not cheap to raise and sustain.
With the increased amount of people on my waiting lists, and the increased amount of rats I have, it is taking more and more out of my pocket. While I am more than happy to pay out of pocket when needed, I do need some help from their income to continue to breed and improve ratties as a whole. I have also had several adopters and potential adopters inform me that I should increase my adoption fees, so after some thinking, I agreed with what they had to say. This will never be something I make profit from, and if I do, it will go into a savings account for emergency vet bills for these guys.
Thank you all for reading this and being so kind and supporting!
New litters have been born! Check out the Nursery page for pictures and more info!
Twister has a litter of 9 babies, which are now 3 weeks old, and Ducky just had 6 babies today! I'll be keeping an eye on her to see if she does have anymore throughout the night.
Cera is still showing quite a round belly, so hopefully we'll be seeing some babies from her soon as well!
It's too soon to tell if Rose is pregnant or not yet, but fingers crossed for another litter from my sweet Rosy Posy!
Priestess is beginning to gain back feeling and mobility with the left side of her face! <3 Her whiskers are starting to twitch a little more, and she can somewhat blink her eye! For those of you who were not aware, she is currently suffering from Bell's palsy, so we have to give her fake tears in her left eye to keep it moist. She is now finally gaining back some feeling in that side, and should fully recover!
Twister is getting so big! If you've not seen her belly picture, you've got to! It's the cutest mommy belly ever <3 She's such a stinking love bug! Thanks so much Clifford Sister Rattery, for allowing me to adopt and breed this sweetheart! <3
Echo seems to be declining still... He's unfortunately developed hind leg deterioration. I'll probably only be able to keep him around for another week. While it pains me so much to see another one of my original babies go, I know it's the best for him.. <3 If he continues to decline, he will have painful pressure on his spine, and soon won't be able to move at all. Before he gets to that point, I will make the call and help him across the rainbow bridge.
Val and Web are still scheduled for surgery next Wednesday to have their tumors removed! I know these ladies will feel so relieved to have them gone. <3 In a effort to help raise some extra funds to fill the vet savings back up, I'll be posting several new ready to ship sets on my Etsy shop most likely sometime Sunday or Monday. <3
I still have two pairs of males around 3.5 months old that are looking for new homes! Their pictures were posted pretty recently if you'd like to find them! I'll also be updating their new pictures on my website this weekend, but their older ones are up there now if you're having trouble finding the posts on here.
I also have some mice I am looking to rehome as pets! I have three males right now, and will soon have some females that will be ready to go as well. <3 Please contact me for more information!
I will be working on updating the waiting list tonight, but I'm not sure if I'll have time to finalize it. Whenever I do, I'll post it here! :)
Not the greatest picture, but Miss Twister still has a week before she's due, and she's already a balloon!!<3 I don't think Ducky took when she was paired since she has not appeared to be gaining any weight, and Cera was paired again too recently to tell. Hopefully I'm not running into another bad streak with successful pregnancies!
I apologize for the lack of updates across my rattie media. I've been dealing with back to back sicknesses I've picked up from work, finalizing adoptions with my most recent litters, and keeping up with the ratties' daily needs! It's been super busy, but with all the ratties adopted out, besides two pairs of males, upkeep time has cut in half.
Tomorrow, I will be taking new pictures of my personal ratties, and the current available males. It'll be spring theme, which I know it's a bit early, but I can't wait since I have all their supplies sitting here for the pictures! :)
An update on the pairs I am breeding for the next round of babies, I decided to breed Cera to Finnley, Ducky to Littlefoot, and Twister to Littlefoot. All of them have been paired together for one heat cycle, and I believe Twister may have a baby bump! It's still pretty early in the gestation period to tell if the mating sessions were a success or not. I will update that info as any new developments come forward!
I will try my best to get back into updating more frequently on here. My life is constantly busy though, so the website does tend to be left on the backburner since most people interested in adopting use my Facebook group, Garden of Tails, for the updates.
Hey everyone! I wanted to make an announcement regarding contacting me, the waiting list, and reserving within a certain time frame. I've had a few people that have been confused by it, so I just wanted to make sure I get it cleared up for everyone just in case there are others who aren't 100% sure. :)
If you have been approved to be placed on my waiting list, whether you are fully approved to adopt or pending, I will still go through and contact you for reservations. You will not be allowed to schedule an appointment to come pick up your rats unless all the required photos have been sent in for the cage, accessories, food, lease (if it applies), and any other items you would be using with the ratties, AND your application has been fully approved. These MUST be photos you've taken yourself to ensure you actually have the items. Plus, it helps me see if everything is safe or not. :)
Once you are on the waiting list and I have contacted you saying it's your turn to pick your ratties, you have 24 HOURS to reply either telling me which rats you are interested in, that you need a few days to pick (which I will allow if you ask), or that you are no longer interested. IF I do not hear back within that 24 hours, I will move on to the next person in line to choose their ratties. This is nothing against you whatsoever, I just have too many people waiting to get babies for me to wait several days to possibly hear back from them.
If I do not hear back from you within 1 WEEK, you will be removed from the waiting list and will have to start from the bottom if you do decide to get back with me after that week's time has passed. Again, I do not have the time, and neither do the people on the waiting list who are actively a part of the updates, to wait for people to get back with me. It's not fair to the rats, possible adopters, or myself to put everything on hold.
This applies to EVERYONE! So, if you happen to fall under this, and are passed over, please remember to take it upon yourself to keep active in the group, keep in contact with me, and respond within the allotted time.
I feel I am being very generous with these time frames given that lots of other breeder base their methods off first-come-first served and do not contact individuals when babies are available. This method just does not work for me and is not organized enough. There's nothing wrong with doing it that way, but keeping a waiting list makes it easier on me and, in my opinion, more fair for the adopters.
A couple of other quick updates! I have all the males and females separated, and all the mommies are back together and baby free!
The nursery cages are a bit overcrowded though, so as people put in their reservations over the next weeks, I'll be separating them to have two male and two female cages. I'll be keeping ratties together that will be going to the same homes so they are 100% familiar with each other if they're from different litters. I'm uploading a video now of the intro session I did in my pin. All the babies were swarming to see me and my fiance! <3 It was the cutest thing!
I'm also updating the waiting list on my website, updating my Etsy shop, and going to try to get the rest of the pictures uploaded to my website as well. Busy night ahead of me! Got some new cold meds that said they helped with energy, and they're doing just that! Still sniffling, but I feel like I could go rock climbing! 🤣
I may also try to get new pictures taken this weekend as well <3

Hey everyone! Reservations for Arcadia's babies will be starting tomorrow. I will contact everyone individually once it is your turn to choose. If you wish to pass on her babies, please let me know. The rest of the babies will be up for reservation within the next week or so. I'll make announcements about them as well. :)
For reservations, 50% of the total fee for all the ratties you plan on getting will be due via PayPal or Google Pay to email@example.com. This is non-refundable unless there is a reason on my end you are not able to adopt your chosen rats. Reasons can be, but are not limited to health and temperament issues. If you are not sure what your total is, feel free to ask!
